Krasnytska Lyudmyla
The Krasnytsky family had five children: three girls (Tamara, Henrietta, and Lyudmyla) and two boys (Volodymyr and Georgiy). The family lived in the village of Babin, Rivne region. The village was known all over the country due to its important strategic sites – a sugar factory and a railway station.
Father Fedir worked as the head of the railway station, mother Natalia worked at the procurement point and accepted milk delivered by the men of the Zvats Jewish family.
When the Nazis occupied the village and announced that all Jews should register, the Zvats family left the house as soon as they became aware of this order. They were looking for the shelter in the village of Babin, but no one allowed them in because local population feared execution or hanging.
Finally, they turned to the Krasnytskys, who hid them in the basement of the railway station, where the Jewish family styed from the autumn of 1941 until the escape of the Nazis from the village of Babyn. Every day Tetyana Krasnytska was cooking food for her own family and for the Zvats family, her daughters helped her, because there was a need to feed 13 people in total.
Thanks to the Krasnytskys, the entire Zvats family survived and returned to a peaceful life.
On June 14, 2007 Jewish Council of Ukraine recognized Fedir and Tetyana Krasnytsky and their daughter Henrietta as Righteous of Ukraine and their children Tamara, Lyudmyla, Volodymyr, and Georgiy as Children of Righteous of Ukraine.
